Leisure Providers across the country are signing up to work in partnership with the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) to boost the standard of swimming provision in their area.
Isle of Wight Council and SLM have signed deals which will see them working alongside the national governing body for swimming until 2012.
The National Plan is a template for learn to swim schemes, and means the authorities will use the highest quality syllabus and awards system. The plan is a comprehensive and progressive teaching programme based upon sound technical and educational principles.
The NPTS will run alongside the Kellogg’s ASA Awards Scheme and looks set to benefit the 2,700 people that currently access the swimming lessons across all of the centres each week.
All partners will benefit from the additional support of the ASA business team as they work towards achieving Aquamark status – the ASA’s quality seal of approval.
ASA Commercial Director Katie Brazier is pleased to welcome the new partners on board.
"The ASA is committed to providing our partners with the support they need to deliver quality learn to swim programmes,” she said. “We are pleased to welcome our new partners on board and our Business Team will be working closely with them to ensure they build on their current success whilst using the National Plan for Teaching Swimming and the Kellogg's ASA Awards Scheme."
