Notwithstanding the `severe weather warning` ie.gales and heavy rain, I journeyed down to Newport Stadium last night and ran in the 3000m track event. This was my first 3000m race and I completed it in a time of 13 mins 09.5 secs.

The conditions were far from ideal re: pbs but it didn`t stop some runners running very `respectable` times.

This is another V65 Club best performance.

As someone who normally runs road races/cross country, the facilities at Newport Stadium (all weather track,grandstands for supporters, cafe, changing rooms, hot showers etc) were impressive, and a `different world` to Rowheath!
