Congratulations to Melanie who ran a fantastic race in Horwich to win the British Masters' F40 title.  Despite strong gale force winds she ran 18:08 over a testing course which made her performance even more special.

A great weekend for Bournville Harriers with the club's first GB vests with Rob and Jon and the club's first National title.

Steve and I travelled up to Horwich today and were quite tempted to turn back when we saw all the “slow down, strong winds” signs on the motorway. However, I’m really glad we didn’t as I went on to win the F40 category in a time of 18.08.  This is particularly pleasing to me as I have missed such a lot of training this year due to injury.   The race was a tough 3 lap course with a steady climb at the beginning of each lap.   I had Steve in my sights for most of the race although he managed to pull away from me on lap two and I just couldn’t catch him up after that. I was second overall in the ladies race with the winner running 17.24.
