Another weekend in Devon equalled another race, my third in Devon this year. This time it was a 10K multi-terrain in Budleigh Salterton - the Jurassic Coast Run. Organised by a local lady the aim is to raise funds for ‘Force’, a cancer-care charity based in the area.
This was fantastically supported and marshalled, indeed I got one of the 2 remaining places, and there were just over 250 runners. The run followed the river out of Budleigh a short way before crossing back to some farmland and onto the coastal path. If I hadn’t of been so out of breath I might have enjoyed the spectacular views a little more! The course followed the coast, then back across farmland along predominantly good tracks with just a couple of steep ascents and descents and the rest being gently undulating.

I was pleased with my run, although I set off a little too steadily due to being stuck mid-way in the group at the beginning, but finished strongly and was really happy to be 6th lady. There was also a BBQ at the end of the race, and by the time I had finished my warm-down my parents had got the chance to sample the veggie-burgers, which they justly deserved for their fab support.
This was a well-organised, interesting race with a great atmosphere and if you are ever down that way on holiday it is definitely one I would recommend.
