A bit of a disaster as my shoes went missing in T1 - so that explains 7 minutes messing about in transition. I ended up borrowing a pair from the race director, they were a bit small but as the run was only 5k, I got round with a couple of blisters. Not too disappointed with my times for the actual disciplines, just the overall time could have been 5 or 6 minutes less. T2 was very quick! There were a couple of other BvH competitors there too. Just one more tri for me this season!

The Wombourne triathlon has a good reputation so I was looking forward to my first go on the course. The pool swim was only 400m but I was struggling after only 10 lengths! Well, it was only my third swim this year! But thankfully I was soon on the bike and making up some ground. The bike course is fairly undulating and took a good few miles to get into my rhythm. The run was along a disused railway track popular with walkers but the path was wide enough to dodge the many cyclists, walkers and dogs. Having looked at the Spring triathlon results I knew a sub-60 time was required to challenge the top-10...
A good result for Stella in only her third triathlon (novice no more). Just think what she could do if she ever did any cycling or swimming!?
