1 World, 3 European, 2 British and 35 Regional Masters records were broken by West Midland swimmers at the British Gas ASA Masters and Senior Age Group Championships.

The Women's 160+ Camp Hill Edwardians 4 x 50m freestyle team broke the World record in a time of 1:52.41. Hayley Bettinson also broke a European record in the 45-49 yrs age group in the lead off leg, setting a new standard of 27.17. The other team members were Suzanne Linton, Joanne Minion and Nicole Raine.

The other European records were set by Mick Marshall (Birmingham Masters) in the 70-74 yrs age group in the 1500m freestyle event with a time of 22:12.38. Craig Norrey from Camp Hill Edwardians broke his own 50m backstroke European record (45-49yrs) in the lead off leg of the mixed 4 x 50m medley relay. Craig also broke British records in the 45-49yrs 50m Butterfly (26.40) and 100m Backstroke (1:00.81).
