The first few days of the IPC European Swimming Championships have seen a number of medals won by East Region swimmers.
Experienced Paralympian Natalie Jones (Colchester Phoenix SC) has won two silver medals so far, in the S6 50m Freestyle and S6 400m Freestyle. She completed the 50m event in 37.64 and the 400m Freestyle in a new personal best time of 5:54.77.
Stephanie Bird (Lowestoft & Oulton Broad SC) struck gold in the S14 100m Backstroke with a time of 1:16.67. Emma Hollis (Epping Forest & District SC) has taken a silver medal in the SB7 100m Breaststroke, with a new British Record time of 1:43.29.
Also reaching finals have been Lauren Steadman (Huntingdon Piranhas SC) who was sixth in the SM9 200m Individual Medley, Emma Cattle (Luton SC) who was sixth in the SM10 200m IM and Lauren Hobbins (Luton SC) who finished eighth in the SB13 100m Breaststroke.
