The ASA Annual Council elected Don Neate as the ASA Vice President for 2009-10. Don was nominated for this position in recognition of his years of work to support and develop the sport at club, county and regional level. Don has been very active as a volunteer for a number of years, starting with his club, West Suffolk Swimming Club, over 30 years ago. As well as undertaking various roles within the club, Don also became a swimming referee. Don has undertaken a number of roles at both county and previously District level. Don chaired the Shadow Management Board which set up the ASA East Region, and continues as an ASA East Region Management Board Member, ASA East Region Swimming Manager, Management Committee member and Secretary for Suffolk County ASA, as well as officiating at numerous events across the region. He is also a Past President of the ASA East Region and Suffolk County ASA.The ASA East Region would like to congratulate Don on his appointment, and, in doing so, express our thanks for his previous and continuing work to support and lead the development of the sport in the region.
