Volunteers are our lifeblood
Volunteer’s work should be recognised
Volunteers in the East Midlands are the best in the country
I know someone who should get an award.
If you agree with the above statements the East Midland Region and County ASA’s are seeking nominations for the Aquaforce Awards 2008.
This year we are improving the local decision-making by establishing County Awards that go forward to the Regional Awards, which in turn become the nominees for the national Awards.
Categories
Nominations are being invited for the following categories:
1. Outstanding contribution at club level.
2. Outstanding contribution at County / Regional level.
3. Long Service Award (25 years or more).
4. Young Volunteer Award (under 18).
5. Outstanding contribution by an 18-25 year old.
The following criteria apply:
All nominations should come from clubs that are affiliated to the ASA.
All nominated coaches, teachers or officials should have the appropriate qualifications.
Nominations from Swim 21 clubs are preferable but not essential.
All 5 categories should be considered against the following areas
-
What impact has the volunteer’s actions had on others?
-
What have they done that is beyond what is expected of them?
-
Have they inspired and supported others around them to fulfil voluntary roles?
Timescales
All nominations for the 5 categories need to be with the club’s County ASA Aquaforce contact (details on the nomination form) by Tuesday 1st July 2008. Nomination forms can be found under the Volunteers section.
County winners will be invited to receive their award at the Regional ACM on Saturday 13th September where the Regional winners will be announced. These five nominees (winners of the Regional awards) will then be put forward for the national awards in October
Any nominations that have already been received by the Region will be passed on to the relevant County ASA.
