07 May 2008 10:38

Sam Hynd

Mansfield Disability Swim Sensation, Sam Hynd, will be confronted by his biggest test to date this weekend when he competes for Great Britain at the Paralympic World Cup Event in Manchester at the Commonwealth Pool - 10th May 2008.

Sam -16yrs, will be competing in the S8 Category 400m Freestyle, where recently he has smashed the World Record for the event twice in the last 4 weeks. However, thid weekend Sam will be up against his greatest challenge as Xiaofu Wang, the current Paralympic champion has confirmed that he will be competing in the event. In fact the event will include the top 4 swimmers in the world at the event, including Peter Leek, Australia, and Christophe Burkard of Germany - what a field!

Wang, who is also the Paralympic Champion and World Record Holder in the 100m Freestyle, will present Hynd with his greatest challenge, as this will be the first time he has competed against the Chinese competitor, in 2008 and will be a fantastic experience for him, to compete against one the giants of Disability Swimming in the last 8 years.

Good luck to Sam.
