Sam Smashes World Record To Take World Cup Glory

Nova Centurion, Mansfield Squad swimmer, Sam Hynd (16yrs), hit the heights of glory again at the Paralympic World Cup event, held in Manchester Commonwealth Pool, on Saturday 10th May 2008.
 
Sam swimming in the S8 Category, 400m Freestyle, which contained the current top 4 swimmers in the World, including the Paralympic Champion, Xiaofu Wang of China, stormed to an emphatic victory, by over 8 seconds, smashing his own World Record,by 0.3 seconds to record 4.31.33. 
 
The 16yr old swimming a mature race above his years, went away from the field after the first 200m, and finished in great style to take his first major International title to become the Paralympic World Cup Champion. Sam has now broken the World record for this event 3 times in the last 6 weeks, and is well on course for success in Beijing in the Autumn.
