At last weekend’s Lincoln Vulcan's Licensed Meet at Ponds Forge Sheffield, Sophie Smith of City of Leicester Swimming Club started her season in style by lowering her own 200m Individual Medley Junior Regional Record.

In a close fought contest against local rivals, Sophie recorded a time of 2:17.38, almost a second faster than her medal winning performance at last season’s ASA National Youth Championships.
