On behalf of everyone involved in swimming within the East Midland Region we would wish to join with the swimmers, coaches and committee of City of Leicester Swimming Club to express deepest condolences to John & Lesley Konderak, and brother Tom - the family of City of Leicester SC and Leicester Penguins SC member Sophie Konderak.
Sophie (16) died tragically whilst training with the City of Leicester Squad on Tuesday Sept 15th. She was a valued and respected member of the Squad which she joined over 4 years ago and trained regularly with diligence and enthusiasm.
We are all deeply shocked and distressed at the tragic loss of such a young fit athlete.
