The ASA North East Region Conference 2009 and Annual Council Meeting was held on 12th September at the Ramada Jarvis, Wetherby.  The Conference was aimed at volunteers in affiliated clubs and all those involved with swimming throughout the local and county associations.  The programme for the day included a thought provoking presentation from David Sparkes, CEO ASA and British Swimming and Chris Cook, Commonwealth Gold Medallist, sharing his fantastic experiences throughout his career.  Steve Janes, outgoing President, delivered an emotional speech before wishing the incoming President, David Dickenson, every success throughout the coming year of presidency.
