ASPE produced its first conference, 'The Business of Sport and the Law in Asia', which took place at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Singapore on the 4th and 5th of July.

Over 80 delegates, from 17 different countries, enjoyed the lush surroundings and warm hospitality of the Ritz Carlton, while attending the panel sessions, presentations, interviews and forums which were a part of the conference programme. Regular networking opportunities were included throughout the two days, enabling participants to visit with colleagues, do business, meet others within our industry and have a chance to exchange ideas with some of the key decision-makers within sport.

In addition to the ASPE conference, Singapore was also hosting the 117th IOC Session that week, which culminated in the announcement of London as the winning 2012 Olympic host city on July 6th. Conference delegates had the opportunity to view all of the final bid city presentations at various locations around town during the day, and to celebrate or commiserate with the winners and losers after the announcement Wednesday evening.
