The International DanceSport Federation (IDSF) and the International Professional DanceSport Council (IPDSC) entered into an important 5-year Cooperation and Friendship Agreement, defining the scope of collaboration between both organizations towards their continued development and growth.

The agreement provides for IDSF and IPDSC jointly promoting, developing and organizing DanceSport activities for professional athletes. It also stipulates that both organizations coordinate the dates and other matters pertaining to DanceSport competitions, and that they work cooperatively to develop, implement and enforce IDSF and IDPSC competition, disciplinary and other rules governing DanceSport. This implies that the IPDSC tournaments for professionals will henceforth be counducted in compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code.

IDSF welcomes the opportunity to work more closely and in a more structured way with IPDSC to meet the aspirations and needs of professionals in the Dancesport community. IPDSC was established by professional athletes who opted to work with IDSF towards the latter's aim of unifying the DanceSport community under the recognition of the International Olympic Committee.
