The World Confederation of Billiard Sports (WCBS) has elected Frenchman Pascal Guillaume as its new President. The decision was made at the WCBS' seventh General Assembly, which took place in Taipei on April 5, with the Confederation electing a new President following the resignation of Jorgen Sandman.

Guillaume, one of the two WCBS Vice-Presidents leading up to the Assembly, accepted to chair the WCBS for a term of one year until the WCBS will have formal elections at its eighth General Assembly next year.

Sandman, who has been on the WCBS Board of Directors ever since the inauguration of the WCBS in 1992, has been appointed President Emeritus.
