Mr. Jan Fransoo, President of the International Korfball Federation since 2003, has been re-elected as President of the Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations (ARISF) at the ARISF General Assembly which took place earlier today in Denver, USA. Fransoo enters his second term as he received unanimous support from the 32 International Federations making up ARISF.

Fransoo (43) lives in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, NED, and has been serving the International Korfball Federation in various capacities in the governing body's Executive Committee since 1995. Since 2007, he is also a member of the Council of the General Association of International Sports Federations.

ARISF unites the International Sports Federations that have been recognized by the International Olympic Committee and whose sports do not feature on the Olympic Program for 2012. Five ARISF member sports have been shortlisted for potential inclusion into the program of the 2016 Olympic Games.
