The International Racquetball Federation (IRF) circulates a press release on the participation of its sport in The Eighth World Games 2009 Kaohsiung:

As of today, The World Games 2009 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, are only 503 days away and racquetball manifested its reappearance with the exciting announcement that besides the portable court which will be shipped for the event from Korea, a new and permanent court will be built right at the competition venue.

“This is an extremely important development for our sport and will allow us to truly showcase racquetball to the world and the IOC during The World Games 2009”, stated IRF President Keith Calkins.

"This represents the great support that the International World Games Association and the Kaohsiung Organizing Committee have made to IOC recognized sports.“

Racquetball was one of the charter sports at The First World Games 1981 Santa Clara.
