The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the organization of the Men’s Hockey World Cup in India was signed by President of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Mrs. Els van Breda Vriesman and Mr. Suresh Kalmadi, President of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) in Beijing, China on Friday. The agreement is a vital step in making sure that the 2010 World Cup in New Delhi, India will be a major success.

The FIH and the IOA already reached an agreement in mid-July, but more meetings were held during the Olympic Games in Beijing, China to establish the best possible conditions for the 2010 Men’s World Cup. FIH’s most important event will be a joint venture between the FIH and the IOA and will take place from 7 to 20 March 2010 in New Delhi, India.
