North Staffordshire XC Race 3 (10th November 2007)
13 Nov 2007 13:35
The ladies team are having an excellent run (pardon the pun) at the moment in their first outing in the North Staffs League. It was grey and slighty chilly in Stourbridge, but after a short hop up the motorway to Stafford Common, the teams were faced with an extremely cold and windy(as ever)site: everyone waiting until the last minute to strip down to running gear. Surprisingly not too muddy this year, but the exposed course was tough going non-the-less. However, the ladies dug in and, with the first four coming home in 18th, 30th, 34th and 68th positions this was easily enough to maintain their team lead and, are now 53 points ahead of their nearest rivals Trentham RC. With only one race to go there is a good chance we can win the league this year (and move up to Division 1) - so we definitely need a good outing next time (8th December in Leek - the more ladies we can get out the better, so please see Ros if you are available). Meanwhile the men had an excellent day also, moving up to 5th position in Division 1 (just ahead of Trentham, by coincidence. Well done to all. Time and positions below. A big thank you to Andy Boardman for his excellent management skills and token collecting - leaving us just to worry about running!
