Please see the following from men's team captain Natalie Dellar:
Hi all
Very well done to all who ran at the Midlands Counties XC on Saturday, at Woolaton Park, Nottingham.
It was a great venue with Woolaton Hall the imposing backdrop for an undulating (but not awful) course. Loved seeing all the deer around by the car park and stags locking antlers. Temperatures throughout the afternoon were bracing to say the least.
The results are here: http://www.midlandathletics.org.uk/PDFS/2012_RES_120128_MCCCA_CCChamps.pdf (scroll down to the men’s section). In summary 12K:
Duncan Cornish 48.32
Andy Boradman 49.09
Adrian Hingley 50.12
Pete Walters 50.28
Ian Clarke 01:10:40
Noel Sanders 01:15:55
A great turnout and 38th team out of 44. Brilliant!!
Mentions go to Duncan who ran a “comfortable” 3.29 marathon at Gloucester on 22nd Jan, good in itself but very good XC running less than a week after - Ian who managed to get round looking fairly fresh despite not having run at all for a number of months! J and Adrian whose leg appears to be held together by tape at the moment!
There is some video footage here of the various races http://www.athleticos.org/coverage/247857-2012-Midland-Area-XC-Championships
The next up is the delightful Stafford Common on 11th Feb. Please let me know if you are able to attend, it is the last Birmingham League and would be good to have a good final turnout. Race starts @ 2.30pm, and details are here http://www.birminghamccleague.co.uk/ (scroll down and click the Stafford Common link).
Any last minute marshals for the Stagger please report to Ian in the park between 9.00 and 9.30 or let him know via email/phone before Sunday, he will find you a job!
Happy running
Nat
