Club and Coach project

Swimmers in the Black Country and Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent sub-regions are benefitting from the Club and Coach project.

Nathan Hilton, has been in post for over 12 months and is the Head Coach for the Performance Academy which trains at The Royal Wolverhampton School. There are 20 places available for swimmers in the performance squad, and the majority of those already in the programme are pupils at the school having secured scholarships and bursaries based on their swimming ability. The squad has a total of 21.5 hours a week pool time available to them along with 5 land training sessions and weekly classroom sessions. CLICK HERE for further information.

Marc Foster is the newly appointed Head Age Group Coach and takes the satellite sessions in the North Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent and Black Country & South Staffordshire areas. There are 20 places available in each group. The North Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent group train together three times a week, in addition to their home programmes – 1 midweek morning, 1 midweek evening and on Saturday morning. The Black Country & South Staffordshire group also train together three times a week, in addition to their home programmes – 1 midweek morning, 1 midweek evening and on Saturday morning.

Places are available in these squads for swimmers who meet the entry criteria.

A one-day development swim camp is running for the Black Country and South Staffordshire clubs at The Royal Wolverhampton School on Sunday 1st November. Clubs and coaches have been contacted offering places to swimmers. Coaches are invited to attend the morning session for a land training CPD and to gain valuable experience from Nathan, Marc and also from a Land Training specialist.
