Cheshire Claim Victory Over Lancashire
22 Apr 2008 11:07

Cheshire
made it back-to-back victories on the Astroturf at Ashton in their sucessful defence of the the Brooklands Cup on Saturday. Wilmslow Captain Mark Reynolds lead all scorers with 3 goals, while Goalies Ben McAllister and Casey Hughes both only conceeded twice as they split time between the pipes. England U19 midfielder Mike Armstrong was Lancashire's strongest performer, picking up his fair share of face offs against his senior counterpart Alistair Wallace. Cheshire never truly got going offensively, but against a young Lancashire side, a workmanlike performance was all that was need. Final score Cheshire 12, Lancashire 4.

In the corresponding U16 Fixture, Lancashire easily overturned their Cheshire counterparts, playing a good mix of fast-break lacrosse and disciplined offence. Cheshire struggled gaining possession and with penalties, leaving Lancs to run out 11-3 victors.
