Men's Northern U19 League Under Way

THE Men's Northern Under-19 Autumn League kicked off last night Sunday with 11 teams all gunning for honours this season.

 

And in Conference A it was Brooklands Hulmeians, Timperley and Cheadle who all impressed with victories on the opening weekend of action.

 

Hulmeians went top of the table with their 17-5 victory over Mellor at Timplerley Lacrosse Club's Stockport Road ground.

 

And there were wins too for hosts Timperley and Cheadle as they both got off to winning starts.

 

Timperley beat Sheffield Steelers 11-6, while Cheadle defeated Heaton Mersey 13-4 to go second in the early standings.

 

In Conference B a combined Norbury and Wilmslow team went top of the table after an opening 7-2 victory over Poynton.

 

A combined Boardman and Eccles, Rochdale and Oldham team are second after they opened their account with a slender 6-5 victory against Manchester Waconians.

 

Next Sunday in Conference A Timperley face Mersey, Hulmeians take on Steelers and Cheadle clash with Mellor.

 

Norbury and Wilmslow take on Wacs in Conference B, while Stockport face the combined challenge of Boardman, Rochdale and Oldham.

 

Results, Sunday 1st November

 

Men's Northern Autumn Under-19 League - Conference A: Cheadle 13 Heaton Mersey 4, Sheffield Steelers 6 Timperley 11, Mellor 5 Brooklands Hulmeians 17.

 

Conference B: Norbury 7 Poynton 2, Manchester Waconians 5 Boardman and Eccles 6.
