SHEFFIELD University Lacrosse Club are toasting sweet success having won the Yorkshire Senior Cup.

The South Yorkshire students turned on the style to beat Sheffield Steelers 5-1 in this year's showcase final on Sunday (1st November) at the Abbeydale Sports Club.

And with their impressive victory, Sheffield celebrated their fourth trophy in the last six months.

Co-captains Tom Leahy and Gareth Roberts both collected the Cup and reflected on an excellent start to the new season.

Sheffield have not lost yet this season and are joint top in the Men's North of England League Division Two with four successive victories.

And the ultimate prize for the talented teenagers is a chance to win promotion to the Premier Division.

The team could also win the Northern Junior Flags title, another competition they are looking to be successful in this term.

A Yorkshire President's Select side (pictured below) and Nottingham also competed in this year's competition.
