England U19 Lacrosse Team- Departure Day

Wednesday 25th June 2008

After six months of intensive training including two training weekends at Loughbrough University and a trip to Dublin to play Princeton University the England U19 team flew out of Manchester this morning on the penultimate leg of their journey to the U19 World Lacrosse Championships in Vancouver, Canada. Team manger Ravi Sitlani and coach Tom Wenham and their team of coaches, physios and players left for Philadelphia where they will have their final training sessions including two warm up games before heading up to Vancouver on Sunday 29th June 2008.

The U19 World Games start on 3rd July with England's first game against Japan at 9:30am (5.30pm BST). England then play Canada, Australia, Iroqouis and USA on consecutive days. This is a tough scheduale for the squad but one they have been working hard for and are looking forward to.

For more information go to the U19 Microsite where pictures and updates will be posted daily.
