Regional programme doubles success rate
11 Dec 2009 19:10

This year the ASA East Region saw 8 candidates pass the British Swimming Referees Examination. This is double the numbers in recent years and accounted for 30% of the total passes in Britain.

This was due to the hard work of the candidates and the support programme introduced to help them. This included specific training sessions and mentoring from some of our top referees including David Metcalf, Dave Robinson and Chris Galer. All those that attended these training sessions passed, with most scoring in the mid 90% marks and include one 100% result.

Those that passed where:-

Bob Boosey – Suffolk

Stephen Christian – Suffolk

Eldred Gibbons – Cambridgeshire

Stewart Murray – Norfolk

Gerry Metcalf – Bedfordshire

Joan Wheeler - Bedfordshire

Tom Baster – Essex

Stewart McLagan - Essex

Our congratulations to them and thanks to the volunteers who supported them through the training.
