Tsubasa Nakagawa of City of Leicester and Knighton Fields SC can have a double celebration this week as he is not only turning 16 years old tomorrow but his records set at the City Of Leicester Open Meet have now been ratified.
On the 26th April 2008 Tsubasa broke the long standing British Junior Record for 50m Freestyle set by the five times olympian and silver world medalist Mark Foster in 1986. The Record previously stood at 23.41 and Tsubasa clocked 23.39 which is an amazing achievement.
The following day Tsubasa also broke the short course 100m Freestyle Regional Record in a time of 52.15 (previous record 52.30).
Congratulations to Tsubasa for both his upcoming birthday and his outstanding achievements in the pool.
