The East Midland Counties Water Polo competition is set to run again this year in October and December.

This year there are two competitions;

1.     A Junior Men’s Competition for the 17 and under age group (i.e. born 1991 and since),

2.     A 14 and Under competition (which is for mixed sex teams, born 1994 and since).

The main condition are; 

• The competition will be run it on a league basis with each county who enters playing the others on a home and away basis between October and December.

• Each county to be responsible for providing a venue for their home games (with no restriction on pool size or depth at this stage) and relevant expenditure, - there would be no additional entry fee this year.

• Games are to be played on a Saturday or Sunday (or possibly Friday evening) to avoid late week nights (many of this age having demanding school commitments).

• Referees will be appointed by the East Midlands water polo committee.

We also agreed that this year two counties may combine to enter a joint team on application to the water polo committee.

A trophy and medals will be awarded for each winning team.
