Congratulations to Spinney Hill swimming club who have recently achieved their Swim 21 status.
Below is a report from the Head Coach of the club describing Spinney Hills path to their achievement.
I teach swimming at Northampton School for Girls and run their after school swimming lesson programme. In 2004, I felt that we needed something at the more competent end of our programme and I started Spinney Hill Swimming Club with just 6 swimmers. They trained once a week and as I have learnt more and completed my ASA club coach coach, our club has grown to 65 swimmers with some training at least 4 times a week and competing on a regular basis. As head coach of our club, I am always looking for ways to improve not only our swimmers but also the loyal and dedicated members of our committee and our swimming coaches Grahame Mutch, Keely Johnson, Jodie Barber and Chris Curtis. We also have plenty of NSG girls from years 7-11 who volunteer to help not only in the club but also in the swim school too.
We feel that now our club can only continue to develop and we look forward to an exciting 2009.
Congratulations to Spinney Hill swimming club.
