Grantham Swimmer Makes Nationals
12 Nov 2009 08:46

James Harrison (Age 17) swam a fantastic race on Saturday 17th October to achieve his first ever qualifying time for the British Gas ASA National Youth Championships 2010. Competing at Pond’s Forge in the 200m Butterfly James recorded a fast 2.14.30 which is 2 seconds under the national time standard. James is only the 5th Grantham swimmer to achieve a national time in the history of the club.

Head coach Maciej Rakowski was absolutely delighted for James commenting “James has worked hard in training ever since I have arrived and deserves this success. What is most pleasing is how early in the season James has achieved this time; the national times were only released two weeks ago with swimmers having until May 2010 to achieve them. James is in form and can use this as a platform for further achievements’.
