North Kesteven School pupil and Lincoln Vulcans swimmer Rebecca Franks will be one of approximately 200 disability swimmers taking part in the Disability Sport England (DSE) National Shortcourse Swimming Championships at the Pond's Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield this coming weekend.
The competition will be tough as Rebecca, who swims in disability category S9 will be up against members of the senior British Team who have just come back from the European Paralympic Swimming Championships in Iceland where they won a total of 39 gold, 32 silver and 23 bronze medals to top the medal table.
12 year old Rebecca hopes to emulate the achievements of the likes of Paralympic 'Golden' girl Eleanor Simmonds herself one day and will be hoping to grab a few words of advice from Vulcan's Rob Welbourn at the Championships.
Rebecca comments: I am really looking forward to the weekend. It will be such a great opportunity to see the British Team. I will be swimming my hardest.
