Nominations sought for Disability Sport Achievers

The winners of the npower North East Disability Sports Achievement Awards for 2007 will be announced on 10th June 2008 at Durham County Cricket Ground.  There are 6 Award Categories:

  • Young Achiever (Male)

Applies to males aged 18 and under at 31st December 2007 and includes individuals who have attained a particular standard at club level or in regional competitions.

 

  • Young Achiever (Female)

Applies to females aged 18 and under at 31st December 2007 and includes individuals who have attained a particular standard at club level or in regional competitions.

 

  • Club of the Year

Applies to an inclusive mainstream or disability sports club which has significantly progressed opportunities for disabled sports people.

 

  • Male Personality

Sportsman of the year, awarded to the sportsman who has achieved success at local, national or international level during the last year.

 

  • Female Personality

Sportswoman of the year, awarded to the sportswoman who has achieved success at local, national or international level during the last year.

 

  • Service to Sport

An individual, administrator, coach or official, who has made a voluntary contribution to local sport over a lengthy period of time. The individual must be associated with a sport, activity or voluntary organisation recognised by EFDS.

Nominations are now being sought for these awards, and the completed nomination form should be sent to the English Federation of Disability Sport office by 20th May.
