SUTCLIFFE AND STARLING SECURE MEDAL IN HUNGARY

Saffron Sutcliffe and Hannah Starling (both City of Leeds) have won the British Gas Junior Diving team’s first medal of the European Junior Diving Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Competing in the first event of the competition, the girl’s 3m Synchro, they took on some of Europe’s top diving nations and came away with the silver medal after an impressive performance.

They were beaten by the Russian duo after they scored 284.90 points and the British Gas pair secured a score of 255.09 with a number of consistent dives.

The bronze medal was won by Greece with 253.98.
