A model representative of the Japanese Team, Sakae Morimoto has been a hockey player for fifteen years and has represented her country for eleven of them.

Morimoto is also the author of Japan’s first ever Champions Trophy goal, scored in Thursday’s match against Argentina.

She feels their team has improved a lot in the Champions Trophy as the games went by and they will continue to work hard, even though the Japanese Team are the only team in this competition to already have qualified for Beijing 2008 by winning the Asian Games in December 2006.

Morimoto’s life consists mainly of working at Tenri University as a member of the administrative staff and training, and often enough her days are too long to do any other things.

Nonetheless, she wants to give her best to the team and says, she does not want to abandon hockey at any point in her life, so she is planning to teach hockey to kids when her career as an active player is over.

Considering her speed, unlimited energy and strength, Sakae is sure to demonstrate and pass on her enthusiasm for the game for the years to come.
