You’ve qualified for this Tournament through the Pan American Games, what are you going to take out of this Tournament this week as a team?
A: As a team, you know we will play our hardest. We have something to prove, you know, because the Dutch Coach left us, and we want to prove to him our coach, that we have the talent. So try to play as best as we could, and gain experience and exposure.

Now you as an individual are the youngest player in this Tournament, what are you hoping to learn from your experience this week?
A: Hopefully I could see all the lead players, such as Simon Child and Kwandwane Browne, a lot of them have great skills and hopefully one day I can be as good as them.

You’ve played five Internationals so far, what would be your highlight from those games?
A: That was the USA series, but the highlight of my national career was my first game against Jamaica like a month before; I scored my first goal on my debut so that was great!

During tournaments like this or other series’, what would you do during a rest day such as tomorrow?
A: Well as I have the exams, I will study with Aidan as we are both in the same class. Having important exams, doing some work: graphs, watch some TV, you know, interact with players, and do some more work. We have to recover so we go to the pool and relax.

If you could change one thing about hockey to improve the game, what would it be?
A: I would try to make it as big in Trinidad as it is in this place and around the world.

Any chance of say the whole of West Indies getting together and making a big Federation?
A: Yeah, I would do that. It would become a big big sport. It would become a megasport!

Now there’s a lot of talk about your pre-game chant, tell us a bit about that.
A: Ah, we’re not supposed to talk about that. Not supposed to say anything.

You’re still in the early stages of you career, after hockey, what would you be looking at doing?
A: Hopefully once I do good in the exams this year, I’m hoping to get a scholarship to go to England to study Engineering so I have a good background after hockey.

What is your favourite city in the world, outside of your home town?
A: That would be Florida.

You are stuck on a desert island for five years, who are the two people you would most want to be with?
A: That would be my friend from Trinidad, Dev Lumkit and my Father because he’s the coolest people I know.
