Pan American Gymnastics Union – 2009 General Assembly

LAUSANNE (SUI), FIG Office, November 4, 2009: Tuesday, November 3, featured the Pan American Gymnastics Union's (PAGU) General Assembly in Aracaju, Brasil.

The PAGU authorities and federation delegates attended meetings to plan the remaining events for the cycle. These events include academies, competitions and training camps. PAGU President, Zobeira Hernandez (VEN), presided over the assembly while Maria Luciene Resende, President of the Brasilian Gymnastics Federation oversaw the coordination and facilitation of the event in her home city.

The Brasilian Federation, with their new home in the city of Aracaju and state of Sergipe, has done an outstanding job preparing for the Junior Pan American Championships in Men’s and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, beginning on Friday, November 6.

This competition will serve as the qualification event for the PAGU gymnasts attempting to secure their nation's slot in the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.
