LAUSANNE (SUI), FIG Office, February 20, 2012: Lukas Koeb from Austria visited the Head Office of the South African Gymnastics Federation (SAGF) in Cape Town last week. The purpose of his visit was to provide training to Gym For Life Challenge and SAGF staff on two systems, namely the Evaluation and Registration Systems, both to be used during the 2013 World Gym for Life Challenge. Due to Lukas' previous experience working with the FIG Gymnastics For All Committee, his systems were highly recommended for use by FIG, come 2013.
The Evaluation System is a scoring system, which will be used to evaluate Gym for Life performances. The Evaluation System was first used at the 1st World Gym For Life Challenge in Dornbirn (2009), and will be adapted and used as the Official Scoring System in 2013. In addition, the Evaluation System will also be utilized in July at SAGF’s 2012 National Gym for Life Challenge in Cape Town.
The Registration System is named BR.Gymnaplana. It was previously used at both World Gymnaestradas in Dornbirn (2007) and Lausanne (2011), as well as at the World Gym for Life Challenge in Dornbirn (2009). This system allows Federations across the world to register participants and groups of their respective countries, who will be attending in 2013. An additional benefit of the Registration System is that it offers planning, evaluation and logistical tools to support the Organizing Committee.
SAGF appreciates the time and effort Lukas has provided in adapting these two systems.
