In October, Chris Waddell, the most successful skier in Paralympic history, who was a featured speaker during the SportAccord 2009 session organised with Athletes For Hope, became the first paraplegic to climb to the summit of Mount Kilamanjaro. He made the 19,340-foot ascent of Africa’s tallest mountain in a one-of-a-kind, four-wheel handcycle propelled entirely be arm power. The title of his Kilamanjaro expedition, One Revolution, is also the motto of Chris’s life. "One revolution means so many things to me,” he says. “One revolution of the handcycle, one revolution of the earth, one lifetime, one moment, one chance to make a difference." SportAccord salutes him for his amazing achievement, the latest of many in the career of a remarkable individual.
