LAUSANNE (SUI) FIG Office - HELSINKI (FIN), October 9, 2008: The Organising Committee of the Finnish Gymnastics Federation (SVOLI) met on October 2 for a last coordination session before the 77th FIG Congress starts next week. President Ms Kirsti Partanen and her staff expressed special thanks to the 20 volunteers who agreed spontaneously to help preparing and running this important event.

The details have been verified. A FIG-SVOLI information stand will be staffed at the Helsinki airport daily from 8am to 11pm and more in case of late arrivals of the delegates. Particular attention was paid to transportation issues in order to rapidly convey the Congress participants to the two official hotels. Each hotel will be equipped with its own reception desk where accreditation and check-in will take place. One contact point for coordination and information desk will be available from October 13 at the Congress’ actual venue.

According to SVOLI’s declaration, everything is in place to welcome more than 400 people and in the best case more than one hundred federations.
