Match 14 – ESP 2 NED 2

In the match of the day, and also of the tournament to date, Spain recovered from a two goal deficit to recover and draw the game.

It looked as though it would be all Netherlands after the first 30 minutes when Spain worked their way back into the game.

They continued their good form into the second half and when Netherlands were reduced to ten men with a yellow card, Spain looked as though they may run away with the game.

Of particular note was the quality of play from both goalkeepers, Gus Vogels (NED) and Bernadino Herrera (ESP).

This draw keeps Pool A more open with Poland able to join Spain and Netherlands at the top of the table. 

Netherlands next play Poland on Sunday, whilst Spain plays Great Britain.
