Young Player Umpire Accreditation (YPUA)
- For young players and existing and potential young umpires, aged 8 to 13 years, from Schools and Clubs with junior squads
- Based upon classroom tuition, practical demonstrations, a short examination paper and practical assessment on a game of Mini or 11 a side Hockey
- The aim is to learn about the Rules with the emphasis on fun and fair play, understand the role of the umpire and then progress to umpire Mini Hockey and 11 a side games
NB. Although the Young Player Umpire level is termed an Accreditation it is not the intention that this should be seen as too formal or off-putting to young players. The idea behind this particular Accreditation is that it is a fun way of introducing the Rules and umpiring to young players.
