Starter Umpire Accreditation (SUA)
- For students, inexperienced Club players (aged 14 years and over), school teachers and parents/helpers involved in either Mini or 11 a side Hockey
- Based upon classroom tuition, an examination paper and a short practical assessment on a game of Mini or 11 a side Hockey
- The aim is to learn about the Rules of the game and some basic umpiring skills, prior to becoming involved in competitive hockey
Resources provided:
- Information Booklet for Tutors and Participants – includes an introduction to and the administration of the Accreditation scheme, plus registration forms, a time planner for the Course and the Course Syllabus (SUA1)
- Presentation Slides for Overhead Projector – the slides to accompany the SUA Course Syllabus (SUA2)
- Examination Paper – a template to enable NAs to develop their own papers (SUA3)
- Examination Paper Answers – the answers to the example paper (SUA4)
- Certificate - a template, for copying on to letterhead, awarded to successful candidates (SUA5)
- Mini Hockey Information Sheet – the Resources provided and available are based upon the 7 a side version of Mini Hockey. It is recognised that various versions of Mini Hockey exist, ranging from 3 a side to 8 a side, which may be played on various size pitches, under differing rules, with differing roles of the umpire and with different match durations. The information sheet, drawn from the Club Development Manual Junior Development Section, is provided to both demonstrate and give information on the various forms of Mini Hockey that are available for young players (SUA6)
