Other sporting successes: I have some gymnastics awards and netball. I was made to do ballet when I was younger- I wasn't graceful at all and had a step like an elephant!

Biggest influence on career: My brother because he used to swim and I got involved because of his influence. My sister also swam and she helped me along the way
Toughest opponent: Becky Cooke! I think she's the hardest person anybody could swim against
Biggest passion away from swimming: My family and friends
Biggest disappointment: I always seem to have missed major competitions in the past few years by a fractional amount of time. I missed qualifying for the World Championships in 2003 for the 1500m by 0.5secs. I also missed breaking the British Record for the 400m I.M by 0.2secs (2005)
Favourite venue and why: Manchester Aquatics Centre because it's a fast pool with a great atmosphere

Family: My mum is called Patrica and she is a credit controller. My dad is called Jim and he is a kitchen fitter. I also have a sister called Janine and she's at university studying Nursing as well as a brother called Mark
