LAURENT-ERIC LE LAY Chairman & CEO Eurosport
Laurent-Eric LE LAY, 40 years old, has extensive experience in the television and internet industry.
He graduated in Finance from Paris II University in 1989, and completed a Masters in Media at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris in 1990.
He began his career with Carat TV in 1990, working directly with the Managing Director. In 1993, he joined Eurosport and creating and developing activity for audiotel, the sports rights sales agency. At this time, he was equally responsible for the launch of the Spanish version of the Eurosport TV channel.
In 1999, Le Lay was handed the responsibility for development of internet within Eurosport, and in 2001 his development role expanded to include Eurosportnews, the sports info channel launched in September 2000.
At the beginning of 2002, Le Lay joined Eurosport France as Deputy Managing Director. He was equally handed responsibility of sports rights acquisitions for the TF1 Group (including TF1 and Eurosport).
In September 2003, he was appointed Managing Director, Broadcasting - Eurosport, in addition to his role as Head of Sports Acquisitions - TF1 Group.
In December 2006, Le Lay was appointed Chairman & CEO of Eurosport.
