Eight medal haul for B&R athletes

B&R athletes made the short trip to the Norman Green Stadium, Solihull on 5th June for the 30th MVAC track and field champonships to bring back 8 medals.

On the track Polly Gerner took gold in the W45 100m category and later in the afternoon claimed bronze in a fast 200m race. Dave Carney running in the M65 800m finished in the silver medal position. In the W50 5000m race Bronwen Cardy running as a guest in Australian colours was first home.

In the field Julie Wakelam was the gold medalist in the W45 javelin and runner up in the long jump to claim silver. Mike Jones took gold with his first putt in the M60 shot and bronze in the discus.
