The Tipton Games

Sam Carter B&R at Tipton Games 2006Despite the poor weather conditions Bromsgrove and Redditch athletes won nine medals at the Tipton Games. Sean Bowden won Gold in the Under15 boys 1500m in a time of 4.29.3 and Ashleigh Wood took the gold in the Under13 girl’s high jump with a jump of 1.20m. Sam Cater (pictured above left)  also won Gold in the Senior men’s javelin. Silver medals were won by Sarah Gerner in the junior women’s long jump and Sam Cater in the senior men’s shot putt. Bronze medals were won by Jack Morley in the Under13 boys 75m hurdles in a new club record time of 16.7, Jack also took the bronze for high jump 1.15m, Amy Irish took bronze in the Under17 shot putt 7.08m and Damian Lewis won bronze in the junior men’s 1500m in a time of 4.16.1.

All of the athletes endured extremely cold temperatures, some battled through rain and even hail, so well done to all who took part. Other B&R performances are shown below.

Under 11 Girls:

Ceri Hammond 75m 12.8, 5th in long jump 3.07m

Under 13 Girls:

Gabby Haines 150m 25.1, long jump 3.51m

Hayley Oliver 150m 24.0, 800m 2.57.0, long jump 2.93

Under 13 Boys:

Arran Bovington 100m 16.2, 200m 33.6, long jump 3.20

Dewi Hammond 5th in 100m 14.6

Jack Morley 800m 2.56.1

Under 15 Girls:

Kelly Oliver 800m 2.46.3, 5th in high jump 1.30m

Laura Winn 4th in high jump 1.40m

Under17 Women:

Amy Irish 6th in 80m hurdles 15.2, 300m  46.5

Under 17 Men:

James Mobley 100m 12.3, 5th in long jump 4.80

Senior Men:

Mark Bennett 100m 12.3, 200m 25.4
