From Senior Men’s T&F captain James Adie:

Hi Guys,

How are you all? I trust you are fit and well and working hard in preparation for the outdoor season. There are a few items I need to discuss with you.

Firstly, the fixtures are out for this season (see below) along with venues. Please note the county championships follows the week after the first match so it would be good to see people carry over some early season form. For the first time this year I have also entered us in the September shield which is an event all teams from all divisions enter on one day so it should provide a good level of comp come the end of the season.

Match 1: 6th May Leamington Spa

(County Championships - 13th May)

Match 2: 3rd June Yate

Match 3: 1st July Rugby

Match 4: 5th August Worcester

September Shield: 2nd September

RE: Other news. At the end of the season I will be stepping down as team manager. It was a hard decision as I have really enjoyed working with you all. My main reasons are primarily being away from the track and due to increased work commitments. I have thoroughly enjoyed fulfilling this role especially with the hard work everyone has put in individually and for the team. I thank you for that and would ask you to keep working hard throughout the season as I will endeavor to do so myself to ensure everyone is enjoying themselves and performing to the best of their abilities. For this year please think about your personal goals for the season, how realistic they are and what you need to do to achieve them. Also, please feel free to discuss your own ideas with me as to how we can improve together and what events you would like to try out. It is also productive among yourselves to help each other and pass on some of your own strategies of how to deal with pressures of competition, etc.. For me personally I usually get butterflies before a competition but see this as something positive as it gets my adrenaline going ready for the challenge ahead. In other words, half the battle just like school or work is trying to figure out the problem or how you can do the best you possibly can.

In terms of replacement it perhaps would be a good idea for anyone interested in taking over for next year to help with the organisation this year. I will be unavailable for the 2nd match as I will be at a conference so this maybe an opportunity to lead and work with the team.

On a final note I wish everyone a successful season and perhaps around Easter time we could have a social event.

Best wishes,

James
