U/20 - vets & special awards

Damian LewisJames Hart

Left: U/20 men's cross country award. Damian Lewis who finished third in the Worcestershire CCC. Right: senior mens field award. James Hart who always turns out for the club in the  Midland Men’s League and achieved PBs in the Triple Jump and Long Jump.

Joanne FrostHelen Russell

Left: Senior women's track award. Joanne Frost who in the Worcestershire Championships she achieved a second in the 100m in 12.9s which is a club record and also gained a third in the 200m. Right: Senior women's cross country award. Helen Russell who was the highest placed in the Worcestershire CCC.

Russell RawlinsYvonne Priestman

Left: Veteran men's track award. Russell Rawlins who turns up to all the meetings and competes in four or five events from sprints to long distance chasing the points for the team, in other words a good team player. Right: Veteran women's track award. Yvonne Priestman who has competed for the club in all our league matches and set new club records in the 60m, 100m, 200m, 400m, and 800m.

Julie WakelamJack Morley & Simon Lanckham

Left: Veteran women's field award. Julie Wakelam who has competed at all league fixtures and set new club records for long jump, triple jump and hammer. She won gold for W45 long jump, high jump and hammer at the Midland Masters Championships. Right: The Ian Mole Trophy for Endeavour by a young athlete went jointly to Jack Morley and Simon Lanckham. Jack competes in all the leagues in two or three events and Simon has a one hundred percent commitment to Cross Country and Steeplechase.

Andy FreemanSteve Mobley

Left: The Fred Cleaver Trophy for Endeavour by a senior athelete. Andy Freeman who competes in at least five events in the Midland Track League. Next season he will also be the Team Manager. Right: The Dennis Adams Trophy for Behind the Scenes Activities. Steve Mobley who has worked assiduously behind the scenes. He set up our club web site, has helped Rita at the Young Athlete’s League, has now attended an official’s course and has become and honorary member of the Club.

Yvonne PriestmanSean Bowden

Left: The Mike Hawkins Memorial Trophy. Yvonne Priestman. In addition to her achievements listed above, she has taken records at league events and even set a new British record at the indoor World Masters Championships in Linz Austria where she became W60 World Champion at 400m, also gaining a bronze in 60m and gold in 400m at the same meeting. In the European championship at Pozan she gained a bronze in 100m and 200m, plus gold in 400m. Right: The Birdsall Trophy for the best English schools performance by a male athlete. Sean Bowden For his performance in the final of the 1500m attaining a Grade 1.

Simon LAnckham, Sean Bowden & Ben RichardsonLuke Evans

Left: The Bill Wilkinson Trophy for the best team performance. Under 15 boys team (Simon Lanckham, Sean Bowden & Ben Richardson) for third place in the Midland Road Relays and for finishing first team in the Worcestershire CCC. Right: The Colin Danks Sprint Trophy for the outstanding sprinter. Luke Evans for a first in the 100m at the County championships, seconds in 400m at the Midlands and the 400m at the indoor meeting.

Polly GernerRita Brownlie & Sue Wheeler

Left: The Chairman’s Cup. Polly Gerner, a coach and team manager who over the last year has played a major role in supporting and encouraging our young athletes. She has also encouraged and guided some of these towards becoming coaches.Under her leadership the Bromsgrove section is now flourishing. Right: Rita Brownlie thanks Sue Wheeler on behalf of the Club.
